Thirty-seven percent of primary care physicians kept their medical records solely in an electronic format last year, compared with 24% of PCPs who did so in 2007, according to survey from the Consumer Reports National Research Center.

Among Consumer Reports subscribers who responded to the survey, 61% said they had gone online to read about their medical condition. Nearly half of surveyed physicians reported that online research helps very little or not at all, while only 8% of PCPs said they thought online research was very helpful.
